More Than Waste and Recycling
At Action, our commitment to New York City goes well beyond collection day. The same crews and green trucks that move through these neighborhoods every morning are the ones showing up on weekends for park cleanups, charity walks, and block parties.
We support the five boroughs through volunteer efforts, environmental initiatives, charitable giving, and local events — from Earth Day cleanups and sustainability programs to toy and coat drives, community parades, and family-friendly Touch-a-Truck events. It is how we help build stronger, cleaner neighborhoods, one block at a time.
Touch-A-Truck
Our Touch-a-Truck events bring Action’s collection vehicles right onto the block, giving kids and families the chance to climb aboard, sound the horn, and see up close how this city gets cleaned. Our drivers and technicians are there to answer questions and talk about the work behind the route. These hands-on experiences spark curiosity, build environmental awareness, and turn a familiar green truck into a real neighborhood connection.
Giving Back
For Action, giving back to New York City is a privilege rather than an obligation. Throughout the year our teams organize and support toy drives, coat drives, and food bank partnerships, along with donation campaigns for local organizations working on the issues our neighborhoods care about most. We are committed to serving the same communities our routes run through every single day.
Sustainability
Sustainability sits at the center of what Action does, and it does not stop at the truck. Throughout the year we partner with community groups across the five boroughs on park cleanups, tree plantings, and beautification projects that leave blocks greener and streets cleaner.
