With our Action in Action blog series, we love bragging about all of the amazing things our team members do to improve the community they live in. This time, it’s our Newburgh Transfer Station Operator Tromain Lee’s little boy who is going above and beyond this holiday season.
Meet Christopher – a boy with a heartfelt mission!
When Christopher was four years old, he broke his leg and was taken care of at Westchester Medical Center. The things that made him happy during that time were his toys, cards, balloons, and his family and friends. His wish is to spread that same happiness along to other children who may be sick or are just in need of a friend.
That’s why at only 6 years old he created the Christopher Lee Project! Its mission is to help support the families, while their children undergo care at Westchester Medical Center as well as provide them with comfort and love. This allows parents to focus on quality time with their children while they recover in peace. There is a great need to help families from all over New York to the Canadian Border.
Last year, he was able to give 307 toys to children and 22 warm blankets to parents. This holiday season, Christopher would like to exceed that number and supply more for the families in need. If you would like to take action in this amazing cause, you can sign up to volunteer or make donations at http://christopherskids.wixsite.com/love
Great job, Christopher!
