We love to highlight when members of our team donate their time outside of work for causes they feel passionate about. Today Patty Granados from Risk is donating her time to honor a dear friend. Here is her story...
On Saturday September 16, 2017 I will be participating at the annual American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – Out of the Darkness Walk in Belmar, NJ. As some of you may be aware I lost my dear friend, Eddie Griffin, to suicide in June 2015. Eddie was a supporter and advocate for suicide prevention as he also battled with this disease. Eddie was a hilarious, big hearted, lovable type of guy. He would light up the room the minute he walked in. Eddie had a passion for music, was a former member of The Hawthorne Caballeros and was an active adjudicator for drum corps and marching bands. He was a member of The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh in Belmar and played bagpipes for a few years with the Jersey Shore Pipes and Drums. He was a husband, son, brother, uncle, and dear friend to many. Although Eddie lost his own battle we continue to fight in his honor.
