On Sunday October 2, 2016, Maria Ferraris and with her family and friends will be at Jones Beach for the Autism Speaks walk.
This past Wednesday our CEO Ron Bergamini was asked to speak on the panel for the Crain's New York Business of Garbage event with other industry leaders such as NYC Sanitation Commissioner Kathryn Garcia, Chaz Miller the NWRA Director and Tom Outerbridge Sims Municipal Recycling GM.
Rob Staada and his son Tyler went on a special trip earlier this year to Nicaragua to help those in need. Tyler, a senior at Don Bosco Prep High School, was part of a group of 23 seniors that teamed up with Mama Margarita Foundation to help build a home, bring medical supplies, and volunteer.
Like most people you've probably never really stopped and thought about all of the people that work hard behind the scenes to remove your waste and recycling from your home or business every week. You simply put your waste and recycling toter out on the curb, you throw your cardboard in your compactor, or throw your compost in the bin, then like magic the next day "poof" it’s gone. It’s not magic, its hardworking men and women, that many times go unappreciated. We're talking about your Garbage Man!
It might not be the most glamorous job, but it's definitely a necessary one. We are proud to have so many wonderful sanitation drivers and helpers working for us here at Action, many whom have been in the industry for numerous years.
So to kick off the weeklong celebration we highlight a few of the garbage men we have working for us.
