THE COMPOSTING PROCESS: 120 DAYS TRASH TO TREASURE.
Organic waste is tipped on a concrete pad which is covered to reduce rainwater creating leachate(waste water). Any leachate generated from the organic material is collected in a waste water collection system. The removal of the leachate helps reduce odors during the decomposition process. THE MIX.
Various organic materials such as food scraps, plants and natural wood products are mixed together then processed through specialized grinding equipment. WIND ROWS:
Once the material is ground into the proper consistency it is piled in wind rows to start the decomposition process. Periodically, the material is turned to provide oxygen to the material which accelerates the decomposing process. THE END PRODUCT:
The entire decomposition process is complete after 120 days. Once complete, the compost is now screened to remove any small unwanted fragments that remain. What is left is a high grade top soil ready for market. The product is sold to local landscapers and retailers throughout the metro area.
